Métis Futures

Taykay Di Loo | Towards Water

Within the dreamscape, I imagined Indigenous Futurism through a lens of reconnecting to ceremony.

Centred on relationship with Water, and envisioning Architecture and Landscape design from that lens, this work highlights a narrative based drawing of a Riverbed Birthing Centre to reconnect Indigenous birth to ceremony and land. This work is inspired by stories from Misipawistik Culture Camp with Elders, Chief, Community members, Becky Cook, KC Adams and Aimee Craft during a summer artist residency with Plug-In Contemporary Gallery.
