Kinship Table

la taab di li vwaazayn

(Currently looking for funding or partnerships to further develop this game)

The Kinship Table, la taab di vwaazayn, is a Michif fantasy world based on folklore, beadwork and historic architecture. Built in Unreal Engine 5, Kinship Table uses a virtual reality experience to simulate 6 different worlds based on 6 different folklore characters. In the game the user navigates between worlds, encountering a Michif prayer in level 1, interactive audioscapes throughout and ending with the Red River Jig. This project builds on what Indigenous architecture is today and specifically looks towards defining Métis futures in virtual and architectural space; a future for the whole neighbourhood, the monsters and mermaids alike. Weaving poetry, beadwork and fantasy the Kinship Table highlights world building as a tool to educate, to dream and to sit with joy.
